May Seasonal Shopping Calendar

May’s shopping calendar has a couple of big shopping holidays:

  • Mother’s Day is a big shopping target, and sales will be going on all month leading up to the holiday.
  • Look out for end-of-season sales in May, so Spring items will start going on sale to make way for summer goods.
  • Memorial Day weekend is one of the top three shopping weekends of the year, so be on the lookout for big sales.
  • Note that while May is a good month to buy a new mattress, it’s not a good time to buy bedding. Wait until January white sales for those bargains.
  • Father’s Day is next month, so look out for gifts during your Memorial Day Shopping.
  • While lots of good electronics deals can be found on Memorial Day (TVs, game consoles, etc.), wait to buy computers until the back-to-school sales start in August an September.
  • There will likely be sales and discounts on toys, books, games and movies related to the Star Wars franchise on May the 4th.
  • May is National Pet Month, so think about your companion animals and look out for deals at the pet store.
